Core Promise: All data you create in Kaiy stays local on your device. We never collect, store, or share your data with external servers or third parties.
1. Introduction
Kaiy is designed to help you track light conditions, organize your photography spots, and analyze your shooting patterns—all while keeping your data private. This policy explains how we handle your information and what rights you have over your data.
2. Data We Do Not Collect
We do not gather any personal or app-related data for storage or analysis on external servers. Specifically:
No personal information (name, email, phone number) is collected unless you voluntarily provide it when contacting support.
No automatic location tracking—any location data you add to your spots (e.g., coordinates or addresses) is stored only on your device.
No usage analytics—we do not track how you use the app (e.g., which features you access or how often you use them).
No photo transmission—photos you capture or upload to Kaiy remain on your device and are never sent to our servers.
3. Data Storage
All your Kaiy data—including spots, photos, light tags (golden hour, blue hour, overcast), and stats—is stored exclusively on your device. We do not use cloud sync or backup services. This means:
You have full control over your data at all times.
Uninstalling Kaiy will remove all app-related data from your device unless you have backed it up using your device’s native backup tools (e.g., iCloud, Google Drive).
4. Device Permissions
Kaiy may request limited permissions to function properly, but these are used only locally:
Camera Access: To let you capture photos directly in the app. Photos are stored locally and never shared.
Storage Access: To save photos and app data to your device’s storage. This is required to maintain your journal entries.
5. Your Rights
As the sole owner of your data, you have the following rights:
View, edit, or delete any of your journal entries at any time.
Export your data (if supported by the app) to save a copy outside Kaiy.
Uninstall the app to remove all Kaiy data from your device (irreversible without a backup).
6. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy to reflect app improvements or changes in our practices. When we do, we will notify you via an in-app message or update the policy on our website (if available). The new policy will take effect on the date stated at the top of this document.
